Resurrection has very generous persons supporting it. We discuss and seek funding for the operations, ministries and improvements at three key times over the course of a year: October, Easter and May.
Glad2Give (Operations)
This is our primary stewardship campaign. Your commitment supports the operating budget— including salaries for pastors and staff, mortgage, utilities, supplies, maintenance, etc. Each October, we ask you to make a pledge (an estimate of giving) for the coming year.
By filling out a commitment card you are:
- Supporting the work of those who care for the financial health of our faith community.
- Helping create a secure church environment where leaders are able to strategically plan for the year and beyond.
- Growing your faith as you reflect on what God has given you and what you can offer.By setting up automatic online giving you are:
- Simplifying your giving—the amount will be automatically withdrawn from your bank account on a regular basis.
- Helping the church by ensuring that your gift is given on a regular basis even if you’re not able to be at church.
We recognize that circumstances change and adjustments may need to be made to your giving as the year progresses. You can always update your giving online.
Not About Us Missions (Easter)
This commitment supports ministry beyond the local church. Being the Hope is the umbrella fund for all of the The Grove’s mission projects. The money received is distributed among state, national, and international agencies. Make your commitment to Being the Hope on Easter Sunday.
By filling out a commitment card you are:
- Supporting the work of those organizations who support our local, national, and world community.
- Growing your faith as you reflect on what God has given you and what you can offer.Being the Hope assures that ministries we care deeply about will receive the right amount of support—according to our means and their need—at the right time. As Pastor Dan said, “Because God is generous to us, we are called to live lives of generosity.”
2018 recipients of your Being the Hope gifts
included:
Emma Norton Services, Weekend Pack Program, Wesley Foundation, Hope for the Journey Home, 2nd Mile Ministry, Detroit Missions, Grace Children’s Hospital of Haiti, Project Ag Grad, UMCOR Disaster Relief, and many more.
Be Our Guest (May)
This yearly effort supports major improvements that are beyond the capacity of our operating budget.
Consider how you are being blessed by your church and how we are called to be a blessing to others. Think about how important our facilities are to effective ministry.
Prayerfully reflect on how God is calling you to support special campus projects.
By filling out a commitment card you are:
- Allowing for accurate planning of projects based on the pledged funds.
- Helping ensure our church environment continues to meet the needs of this church community.
- Growing your faith as you reflect on what God has given you and what you can offer. You can give to the general fund or you can designate your gift toward a specific project.
In the past, we have raised funds for chapel renovation, worship center technology, LED lights, and First Impressions improvements.
